We’re looking for a passionate Sessional Fitness Coach to join our Arsenal in the Community team on a casual basis, delivering inclusive and accessible physical fitness sessions and health interventions with a keen focus on our women's community groups. You’ll work with participants of different ages, backgrounds and abilities, creating positive and impactful experiences that support the health and wellbeing of our community.

You'll plan and deliver a variety of sessions, including our women's Shape Up programme, Strength & Balance sessions, and Older Adults programme. While leading these sessions, you'll be an ambassador for our club, maintaining high standards of professional behaviour and building positive, impactful relationships with all participants.

Your day-to-day:

  • Deliver inclusive fitness sessions - you’ll confidently plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate fitness activities and wellbeing interventions that respond to the needs of individuals and groups
  • Create welcoming experiences - you will build professional and supportive relationships with participants from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, ages and fitness levels
  • Prepare safe and effective environments - you will carry, set up and use a variety of fitness equipment, checking equipment safety before each session and taking responsibility for the correct use and upkeep of facilities
  • Champion high professional standards - you’ll be a proud ambassador, representing our club positively and respectfully when working with participants, colleagues and stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate session records - you will proactively update registers, consent forms, incident and accident documentation, and records of participant outcomes
  • Keep developing your expertise - you’ll embrace opportunities to attend professional development days and continue building your coaching knowledge
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations - you will consistently follow safeguarding, health and safety, emergency and venue procedures to help provide a safe and inclusive environment for everyone

Position of Trust - As someone in a position of trust role involving regular, direct contact with children or vulnerable adults you will be expected to uphold high standards of conduct to prevent abuse, including sexual, physical, or emotional harm. This role requires you to keep updated with both Club and FA Safeguarding training and education.

What we are looking for:

  • Level 3 Fitness Instructor qualification - you hold a recognised Level 3 qualification that equips you to plan and deliver safe and effective fitness sessions
  • Expert fitness and nutrition knowledge - you possess a competent understanding of exercise and nutrition and can use this to support participants’ health and wellbeing
  • Inclusive coaching expertise - you understand how to adapt exercise for different needs and medical conditions, with experience of supporting people of all ages and abilities
  • Confident communication skills - you can explain activities clearly, build trusting relationships and engage positively with individuals and groups
  • Community-focused approach - you have experience of working in community settings with an eagerness to develop your knowledge in this area
  • Commitment to safe practice - you demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding, health and safety and appropriate emergency procedures
  • Passion for continued development - you take ownership of your learning and are motivated to strengthen your professional knowledge and coaching practice
